I went to the most amazing university where I took kinesiology, played varsity lacrosse, and started my love affair with fitness. In the last ten years, I've been certified in the following areas:
Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the International Yoga Alliance
Health and Physical Education Specialist (Ontario College of Teachers)
Certified Zumba Instructor (Zumba Fitness)
Certified Kickbox Instructor (Fitness Kickboxing Canada)
Certified Bootcamp Instructor (Fitness Kickboxing Canada)
Certified Spinning Instructor (Reebok Cycle)
Certified Fitness Instructor Specialist (Can-Fit-Pro)
Certified Personal Trainer (Can-Fit-Pro)
I've also received professional development in Stability Ball, Medicine Ball, Lebert Equalizer Bar, and BOSU Ball Training, and incorporate things like Skipping, TRX and Kettlebells into my classes.
As a teacher I also know how important keeping on top of current trends can be! In the future I hope to add Pilates and TRX certs to my resume.
Wow, you teach lots of classes! I am impressed. I am a new instructor :) I also come from a very fit family. We are very lucky!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!!!! It will change your life- the BEST job in the world. And yes, we ARE lucky! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are my hero, wish I had half the certs you do!
ReplyDeleteI love all the designations you have :) I am just starting to fall in love /w fitness I kinda wish I had continued being active after high school. In my current life I would LOVE to be a fitness instructor but wouldn't even know how to go about it in my "old" age :P - I'm a 28 yr old mom!
ReplyDeleteImpressive list, lady! Where do you teach?
ReplyDeleteThanks for listing these! I've been debating whether to go with Can-fit-pro or Ace for my group fitness certification. Wasn't sure if one was more respected over another in Canada.
