Homemade, 5-ingredient, delicious protein energy balls, that is.
I made these by accident, actually- I won an amazing KitchenAid Food Processor from Happy or Hungry last month, and I was so excited to make my own energy bars that I bought all the ingredients early and thought it would be a good idea to use my blender instead.
Bad call. RIP, blender. Welcome, balls.
These taste way better than they look. |
You'll need:
1. Pitted dates, broken apart by hand
Tip: buy dates packed in a container as opposed to a package, they tend to be softer and easier to work with! |
2. Chocolate chips (my favourite part... natch) and 3. natural peanut butter
4. Slivered almonds
You wonder why my blender kicked it. |
5. Chocolate protein powder
This stuff is RIDIC. No "protein-ey" taste. Your welcome for the technical term use. |
You'll also need to be okay with getting down and dirty. And if you know anything about me, I'll make any sacrifice for my health.
Using about 3/4 of a container of dates, break up with your hands on a plate.
Any sacrifice necessary. |

That's what she said. |
Add your desired amount of chocolate chips.
Do not judge me. |
Ah, you'll notice my blender is missing the top half. And, the chocolate chips are open. |
Voila! Enjoy :)
