Happy Fourth of July to my American friends!!!

Today was the first day of my new jobber (what a tease the 3 day weekend is!) and it went really well. I barely slept last night because I was so nervous, but I am very happy with how the teachers responded to some beginner yoga today.

My mother-in-law has an annual girls' night that started 5 years ago when her daughter got married, and it takes place at my all-time FAVOURITE restaurant called Tomi Kro. My MIL calls the night "Sex and the City" for a few reasons: because we get dressed up, drink martinis, eat gourmet food, and each of her daughters are allowed to bring two girlfriends to celebrate the women in our lives. Very SATC like. And much like SJP, we are celebrities for this one night.

Get me a cosmo.

My favourite SATC character has always been Miranda. Sure, she was dressed like a man for the first two seasons, but the girl is a solid friend, a realist, someone who is passionate about her career, and she loves her booze. Basically, my hero.

Hot.

This was my FAVOURITE outfit of all time for my girl.

My mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, myself and our girlfriends enjoyed an ARRAY of food including Mixed Green Salad, Coconut Curried Cauliflower, Pistachio Beets with Goat Cheese, Shiitake Risotto, Brussel Sprouts with Proscuitto, Seared Halibut, Lobster Maki Balls, Deep Fried Tofu, and of course dessert. It was magical.

Yes, these are brussel sprouts. And you'll have to trust me that they are to DIE for.

Shiitake risotto that tastes like heaven.

Pistachio and Goat Cheese Beets... RI-DIC

I absolutely LOVE cauliflower. Eaten raw, cooked, baked, and especially in coconut curry- divine.

Deep fried tofu- the best thing I have ever eaten.

Don't adjust your eyes. This is how they plated the Lobster Maki "Balls". I love Tomi Kro.

Seared halibut... that I was hoping would be phallic in some way.

Dessert- just a flourless chocolate cake, key lime pie, and cheesecake. No biggie.

I brought my beautiful friends Amanda and Jess- two women I can't imagine in my life! Amanda is my Tattoo Sister for life- and oddly enough, I feel a strong connection with her for this reason! Jess is my ultimate woman who gives me many reasons to blog. One day I will post about her and her Choos.

After we gorged ourselves for probably three straight hours, we did what most normal people would do.

We took photos on the couch outside the washroom.

We used props.

We found a blank canvas on the stairs.

We wanted to share our nude patent platforms. Oh wait, that was just me.

What a glorious night to celebrate- and on the weekend of Pride!!! In lieu of this, I need to share a few photos taken on a triple dinner date with my running partner Edna (read our love affair here.) and her boyfriend, Edna's sister Steph and her boyfriend Eric (who owns an AMAZING restaurant called Fabarnak which, by the way, has CUPCAKE WEDNESDAYS.... amen) from last weekend. We went to Queen Margherita in Leslieville and somewhere along the line, this happened.

Yes, these are grown, 6'4 200+ pound straight men feeding each other gelato.

 As we were leaving, and Eric was contemplating what slogan to wear on his pink shirt during his Pride charity gala, we saw this.

The Manzilian- to "Tame your Turf". I love Pride.

MIRANDA. Okay, okay. I know she is everyone's least favourite. Carrie is gorgeous and has great clothes, Samantha is sexy as hell and fierce, and Charlotte is sweet and charming- but Miranda is stubborn, reliable, and real.
